Anna Cochran is a watercolour painter based in Austin. She paints the places that feel most like Texas to her — South Congress on a hot afternoon, the cypress shadows over Barton Springs, the small stone chapel in the Davis Mountains that gave this studio its name.

Each piece begins outdoors or from a quick reference photo and is painted slowly on cotton paper. The originals are signed and one-of-one. Most are also made into archival giclée prints in the studio, in editions that stay open as long as the painting still feels right.

She takes a small number of private commissions each season — homes, weddings, family ranches, the occasional dog.
